Dr. Ralph Abraham is the Clinical Director of London Medical, which he founded as The London Diabetes & Lipid Centre in 1991.  Starting his career as a biochemist at Oxford, he did a PhD in Biochemistry at Imperial College on insulin resistance in obese mice, a subject that is all too relevant in the management of diabetes today.  He was trained at the Hammersmith Hospital and Kings College Hospital in gastroenterology and hepatology before specialising in Endocrinology and Diabetes at St Mary's Hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital, leaving the NHS in 1986. Dr. Abraham works in full time private practice with a successful and recognised expertise in diabetes, endocrinology, lipid disorders and obesity management.  He also runs the SmartWeight programme for obesity. www.smartweight.co.uk

Mr Heath is based at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and provides a service for London Medical patients.  He is a former senior lecturer in the Department of Surgery, University of Western Australia in Perth, WA.  He trained as a gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgeon and performs a wide range of laparoscopic procedures including hernia repair, removal of gall bladder, repair of hiatus hernia and endoscine operations.  He also has a major interest in obesity surgery and performs laparoscopic gastric banding, gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy.  For more information on these operative techniques, please visit his websites at: www.thelondonherniaclinic.co.uk   www.laparoscopicobesitysurgery.co.uk 

Angela is a Registered Dietitian and Public Health Nutritionist with thirteen years experience of working in the health services as a Community Dietitian, and in the food industry for key players such as Yakult and Tesco.  She has worked with many individuals to help them lose weight on both an individual and group basis and has previously developed and run a successful healthy eating program in North Staffordshire.  She currently manages London Medical’s SmartWeight weight management program. www.smartweight.co.uk In addition, she is experienced in the dietary treatment of medical conditions such as obesity, diabetes (Type I and II) and hyperlipidemia.  She also accepts referrals for food allergies, gastroenterological conditions, paediatrics, pre and post-bariatric surgery and various eye conditions, such as prevention of Age Related Macular Degeneration.  Angela accepts both Consultant and self-referrals.  For GP referrals, please contact your medical insurance company to check their policy on this.
